Terms of Use

These terms apply to your use of the website at pocketpalapp.ae. By using the website, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.

These terms cover the website only. They do not cover the future PocketPal app, which will have its own terms.

1. Who we are

The website is operated by PocketPal Technologies Limited ("PocketPal", "we", "us"), a company incorporated in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).

2. About the website

The website gives information about PocketPal, a financial literacy and money management product for children and teenagers aged 7 to 18, guided by their parents. It also lets adults join the waitlist and contact us.

PocketPal is still in development. The app is not yet available to the public, and nothing on this website can be bought.

3. PocketPal is not a bank or financial services provider

  • PocketPal is not a bank. PocketPal Technologies Limited is not licensed or regulated by the Central Bank of the UAE or the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA).
  • The website does not offer accounts, wallets, cards, payments, investments or any other financial service, and we do not hold anyone's money.
  • Any future card, wallet or payment features would be provided by appropriately licensed financial institutions and would depend on regulatory approval. They are not available now and may never become available in the form described.
  • Card designs and app screens shown on the website are illustrative.

4. Information on the website

Content on the website about money, saving or financial habits is general educational information. It is not financial, investment, legal or tax advice, and it does not take your circumstances into account.

We work to keep the website accurate and up to date. Because PocketPal is still being built, features, timings, availability and other details may change. Descriptions of planned features show our current intentions, not a promise that they will be delivered.

We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the website at any time. We do not guarantee that the website will always be available or free of errors.

5. The waitlist

  • The waitlist is for adults aged 18 or over. To join, you tick the box to agree to these terms. By agreeing, you confirm that you are 18 or over. We rely on that confirmation and do not check ages.
  • If you are under 18, you must not join the waitlist or use the contact form. Please ask a parent or carer to do it instead.
  • Joining the waitlist is free and does not create any commitment on your part or ours.
  • It does not guarantee you access to the app, a pilot or early access, a launch date, any particular features or any price.
  • We may decide who is invited to early access, pilots or research, and when.
  • Please give accurate details and use only your own email address.

How we use your details is explained in our Privacy Policy.

6. Using the website properly

You must not:

  • use the website in a way that breaks any law;
  • submit false details, sign up someone else, or use the forms to send spam;
  • try to gain unauthorised access to the website, our systems or our data;
  • introduce malware or anything else designed to harm the website or its users;
  • interfere with the website's operation, security features or bot checks;
  • use automated tools to scrape or copy the website on a large scale, except search engines indexing it in the normal way;
  • present the website's content in a way that suggests a connection with PocketPal that does not exist.

7. Intellectual property and other organisations' names

The PocketPal name, logo, mascot, designs, text, images and other content on the website belong to PocketPal Technologies Limited or are used with permission from their owners.

You may view and share pages from the website for personal, non-commercial purposes. You must not copy, adapt or use our content or branding for any other purpose without our written permission.

The names and logos of other organisations shown on the website belong to those organisations. Showing them does not mean those organisations endorse PocketPal, are our partners, or are responsible for PocketPal, unless we say so expressly.

The website links to other websites, such as our social media pages. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

9. Our responsibility to you

  • We provide the website free of charge and for information only.
  • To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss that arises from relying on information on the website, or from the website being unavailable.
  • We are not responsible for indirect or consequential loss.
  • Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence. Nothing in these terms affects your rights under data protection law or any other mandatory rights you have.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when they were last changed. The version published on the website when you use it applies to that use.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Dubai International Financial Centre.

If a dispute arises, please contact us first at ask@pocketpalapp.ae so we can try to resolve it. Disputes that cannot be resolved may be brought before the DIFC Courts. This does not remove any right you have under applicable law to bring proceedings elsewhere.
